How does WhatsClean detect duplicate photos?

WhatsClean analyzes your photo library locally on your device using visual comparison algorithms. It identifies photos that are identical or near-identical and groups them for your review. No photos are uploaded or sent anywhere.

Does WhatsClean delete anything automatically?

No. WhatsClean never deletes anything without your explicit confirmation. You review what is detected, select what you want to remove, and confirm the action. You are always in control.

Is my photo library data sent to any server?

No. All processing happens entirely on your device. WhatsClean does not have a server component and does not transmit any photos, metadata, or personal information.

Can I recover photos after deleting them?

Photos deleted through WhatsClean go to your iOS Recently Deleted album and are recoverable for 30 days, just like photos deleted through the native Photos app.

Why does WhatsClean need access to my photo library?

Photo library access is required to read and display your photos for duplicate detection. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

WhatsClean is not detecting some duplicates — why?

WhatsClean uses a similarity threshold to avoid false positives. Photos that are slightly different may not be flagged. This is intentional to keep you safe from accidental deletions.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled directly by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the purchase, and select "Request a Refund".
